Configurator Now Open!
The time has come! The Tesla Model Y has now opened for ordering in the UK, after Tesla launched their online configurator with the first deliveries appearing in early 2022.
Tesla Model Y Long Range
The Tesla Model Y range starts with the Long Range and with a price from £54,990 (Correct as of 19th October 2021). The usual 5 colour choices are available with the Pearl White Multi-Coat included within the price.
Options to add include the larger 20″ induction wheels at an uplift of £2,100 and the optional white interior at £1,100. The long-range model is also available with a towbar after delivery.
The long-range Model Y gives you a WLTP range of approx. 315 miles, a Top Speed (where permitted) of 135mph and a 0-60mph of 4.8 seconds.
Tesla Model Y Performance
For those who don’t think the long-range is quick enough, the Performance upgrades the specs quite heavily. Firstly, the WLTP range reduces slightly to 298 miles, the top speed increases (where permitted) to 150mph and the 0-60mph is a rapid 3.5 seconds.
The performance model benefits from additional items including 21″ Überturbine Wheels, which we absolutely love. Performance brakes, lowed suspension and aluminium alloy pedals all add to the package.
Options for the performance model is limited to the Black or the optional White interior at a cost of £1,100. The 5 colour choices are as the usual Tesla lineup, detailed below.
7 Seat Configuration
There is no mention of the 7-seat configuration in the United Kingdom at the time of writing. In the USA the 7 seat variant was added at a later date, this may be the case for the UK. FOr the time being the Tesla Model X is available in both 6 and 7 seat configurations.
Colour Choice
The Tesla range offers a limited colour choice, this may change after some news from Tesla’s Gigafactory in Berlin over the last few weeks. For now colours include:
- Pearl White Multi-Coat
- Solid Black – £1,100 Option
- Midnight Silver Metallic – £1,100
- Deep Blue Metallic – £1,100
- Red Multi-Coat – £2,100
Autopilot
Tesla is also offering both the Enhanced Autopilot at a cost of £3,400 and the Full Self-Driving Capability at a cost of £6,800. The Tesla Model Y comes with Basic Autopilot as standard.
Enhanced Autopilot
This comes with the following:
- Navigate on Autopilot
- Auto Lane Change
- Autopark
- Summon
- Smart Summon
Full Self-Driving Capability
This comes with the above plus:
- Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control
- Autosteer on city streets (Coming Soon)
Order Today
You can order the Tesla Model Y today on their website and they will take a non-refundable £100 order fee. Deliveries for the Long-Range are quoted as early 2022 and the Performance showing as mid-2022. It is not understood where these vehicles will be built as yet for the RHD market.
