WWDC 2022
Apple announced the “next generation” of Apple CarPlay at their WWDC 2022 event and with their 2023 conference literally days away, we’re excited to see the development of this software.
Apple CarPlay has made many built-in Satelite Navigation systems defunct and many use the CarPlay music streaming or radio apps instead of the ICE.
Apple is taking the next steps to really integrate their system into more of the car with the ability to adjust climate control or change the look of the speedo into something more pleasing.
Apple CarPlay will feature across multiple screens and will provide a more integral approach than ever before. Manufacturers will allow the software to adjust the temperature, access the onboard radio and even display the vehicle’s speedometer, temperature, fuel level (or charge) and more.
It will allow drivers to customise the look and the feel to enhance their driving experience and get the information they need, in front of them. You’ll be able to add widgets to keep an eye on the weather or the latest stocks to see what the FTSE is doing.
Which Manufacturers Will Offer This?
The first vehicles to support the “next generation” Apple CarPlay experience will be announced at the WWDC 2023 event between the 5th and the 9th June 2023.
Commited vehicle manufacturers include; Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Audi, Nissan, Volvo and Porsche.
