BMW have recently given it’s luxury SUV the BMW X5 a facelift with a new sharper exterior, tweaked engines and an interior similar to the BMW X7. In our opinion the current model of the BMW X5 was excellent, but only a few brands can really improve on perfection.
BMW have given the X5 those thinner headlights that seem to be rolling out across other models from the German manufacturer. A tweaked bumper and a more aggressive look finishes off the exterior.
Inside the cabin the X5 receives the latest iDrive infotainment system with a beautiful curved display, again similar to the X7. Our only gripe is that you now need to go into the screen to change the climate control settings.
Specification is excellent with LED headlights, Park Assist, Smartphone Wireless Charger and Apple CarPlay as standard. Opt for the M-Sport and you gain the M Aerodynamics bodykit.
Engine wise, BMW has made some changes to the powertrains with 48v mild-hybrid technology on both the Petrol and the Diesel models. The Diesel model produces 294bhp and 670NM of torque. As with the current model, the mild-hybrid system will allow electric-only driving at low speeds.
