BMW X3 | Petrol vs. Diesel
The BMW X3’s are back in stock and ready to go out on our popular Car Subscription Service, Flexi-rental (90 days plus) or Short-Term Car Lease contracts (6, 9 and 12 month car leases).
But you’ve now got a choice of Petrol or Diesel! Lets have a look at the comparisons:
BMW X3 xDrive 20i M Sport Auto
- Engine Power: 184 PS
- Fuel Economy: 42.2mpg
- CO2 Emissions: 182 g/km
- 0 to 62mph: 8.3 seconds
- Max Torque: 300Nm @ 1350 rpm
- Max Power: 184 PS @ 5000 rpm
- Top Speed: 133mph
- Fuel Tank Capacity: 65 litres
BMW X3 xDrive 20d M Sport Auto
- Engine Power: 190 PS
- Fuel Economy: TBC mpg
- CO2 Emissions: 157 g/km
- 0 to 62mph: 7.9 seconds
- Max Torque: 400Nm @ 1750 rpm
- Max Power: 190 PS @ 4000 rpm
- Top Speed: 132mph
- Fuel Tank Capacity: 60 litres
So which version is for you?
This all depends on the mileage you do and of course, your personal preferences. We’ve got a lot of customers who have purposely moved away from Diesel cars, this could be because they prefer driving a Petrol or they are using a Petrol as part of their journey from Diesel to Petrol to Hybrid to Fully Electric.
If you’re a high mileage driver, then the Diesel might make more sense, but if you’re only doing 1,000 miles per month, then the Petrol might make more sense. At the time of writing, Petrol is cheaper at the pump than Diesel and there shouldn’t be much difference in fuel economy.
With the comparisons above, the Diesel is marginally quicker and provides more torque, but this is pretty normal in the Diesel Vs. Petrol fight.
