The Porsche Taycan has been popular on our Porsche Car Subscriptions and an existing customer who was already driving the Saloon asked us if we would spec up a new one as his company car. Due to cash reserves the subscription Porsche would be coming back and the business would buy the new car outright, so the model had to last for at least 3 years due to their company car policies.
The customer lives near to the Cocoon Vehicles office right on the border of the Peak District, so the Cross Turismo was chosen over the Sport Turismo to give him the extra ground clearance. The customer wanted the following requirements:
-
Family Car so would prefer Rear Entertainment -
Prefer a Grey Car with Black Accents -
Don’t go too crazy on the tyres as the ones on his current Taycan haven’t lasted -
Would love the passenger screen -
Would like Panoramic Sunroof -
Needs to have Apple CarPlay
-
Doesn’t want the basic model, but doesn’t want the superfast version
Initial Thoughts from Cocoon
The beauty of configuring a Porsche is that they can be heavily customised and as long as you don’t mind paying a premium, you can really individualise the models right down to how the key is coloured.
Starting with the exterior colour, you can pretty much choose anything so long as you’re willing to pay for it. Volcano Grey was our first thought and like the property programs we did offer a wildcard with two other options:
-
Volcano Grey – Metallic -
Crayon (Legends) -
Neptune Blue (Wildcard)
Alloy Wheel Choices
Again, Porsche offer a great range of Alloy Wheels. We feel some of the options offered really don’t suit any of the cars and are for ‘aero’ benefits. As above, we were told not to go too mad on the size so for all of the colour choices we opted for the 20-inch Offroad Design Wheels.porsche
Interior Materials and Colour
The interior is one of the most important aspects of designing any car. This is where you’ll spend most of the time and comfort is paramount. There is nothing wrong at all with the standard partial leather interior offered by Porsche, this would be our first choice. Want to go a little special and the Smoot-Leather finish is glorious. But we thought we’d go classic; We went for the Black Race-Tec interior with Pepita, a classic Porsche look.
We also added the Adaptive Sport Seats with 18-way electric and memory package, this is due to his current Taycan Subscription having this and the customer loving them.
We added seat heating for the front and rear, we did add front seat ventilation but this option was removed due to the seat choice (material vs. leather). With two kids, we kept the 2 rear seats.
Exterior Additions
We added the Offroad Design Package including the inlays painted in high-gloss black to beef the car up Dakar rally style along with Exterior Mirrors finished in Carbon, Side Window trims in black, door release handles in black, Porsche Logo LED Door couresy lights, rear screen wiper in black, roof rails in black aluminium, model designation in black, black brake calipers, tinted HD-Matric LED Headlights with four-point LED Daytime running lights, Light strip with illuminated Porsche in Logo Black and Privacy Glass.
Extra Options and Infotainment
Where we could, we matched his current Taycan Saloon so we added the following:
-
Sport Chrono Package -
Panoramic Roof with Variable Light Control -
Thermally and Noise Insulated Glass including Privacy Glass -
Carbon Matt Interior Package -
Surround View with Active Parking Support -
Lane Change Assist -
Porsche InnoDrive with Active Lane Keeping -
Head-up Display -
Comfort Access -
Soft-close Doors -
Advanced Climate Control (4-Zone) -
Passenger Display -
BOSE Surround Sound System -
Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment
Final Design

Conclusion
We absolutely love designing cars for customers who are looking for long-term solutions and due to our relationship with funders, suppliers and dealers up the UK, we can help you configure and purchase your next car.
This is the 6th design for the customer and we are so glad he opted for the wildcard version, the blue really looks amazing paired with the black surrounds. We cannot wait to see this on the road in (hopefully) September 2024 on a 74 plate.
