The Mercedes-Benz EQC is a luxury SUV that is fully-electric, it is essentially a GLC but without the traditional engine. It was Mercedes’s first mainstream Electric Vehicle so you can imagine that the build quality is spot on and is currently loved by company car end users. Here is why we love the Mercedes-Benz EQC and other models from the Mercedes EQ range.
Why we love it…
The Mercedes-Benz GLC has been a popular car on our vehicle subscriptions service over the years, many customers have taken the same make/model as they know what they are going to get, the EQC is the pure-electric version of the GLC so it’s no wonder that our GLC customers are opting to take this EV.
It drives just like the ICE version, but better. The response from the electric motors is immense and coupled with a sensible range the car is ideal as a commuter vehicle but won’t leave you with range anxiety for a long run.
Here at Cocoon Vehicles, we’ve seen a range of around 220 to 250 miles from a full charge and on-board the 80kWh battery will provide around 760Nm of torque and 403bhp.
Inside…
Those who are familiar with the GLC, will be familiar with the internal workings of the EQC. Large central based screen, virtual cockpit and uber comfortable seats. MBUX is onboard and provides a handy assistant to change radio stations, change temperature or even provide a weather update.
Connect with your smartphone on applicable models and access Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, although a cable is required. Upgrade and it can open access to a sunroof and a premium sound system.
Seats are comfortable with the Mercedes usual Artico man-made leather upholstery, plenty of adjustments allow a relaxed and comfortable drive.
Driving…
As we’ve already mentioned, the drive is punchy thanks to the electric motors and battery pairing, but the car can be driven nicely to save range where possible.
The car drives like other Mercedes models with or without the EQ technology. Long drives can be relaxed and comfortable thanks to a well setup suspension.
Need to hit the pedal and the power is there starightaway like with other EV’s, it will leave hot hatchs standing.
Boot Space…
Across the car, space is ample for most drivers with families. But the most important section is the boot…
The boot space is excellent with 500 litres of capacity, with the rear seats down it provides 1,060 litres.
Conclusion
For those who are Mercedes fans, the EQC ticks many of the boxes with a huge bonus being the electric motors. Space is great for families and the technology is always exciting.
Company car drivers will love this thanks to the current benefit in kind incentives on electric vehicles.
