Inside and Gadgets
There is plenty of space onboard the MG5 Estate with plenty of leg room for those in all seats. For the driver there is plenty of adjustments to get the driving position just right.

Our only bugbear is that the climate control is hidden in the touchscreen, it can be a pain especially when you are driving.
Driving
Doesn’t matter which derivative you opt for, all of the MG5 Estates come with a 154bhp electric motor and a 57kWh battery. This gives a WLTP combined range of 250 miles, but according to the EV Datatbase, the range can be anywhere between 145 and 310 miles. Speaking with customers who have taken these models they can easily do 200 miles on a full charge.
0-62mph is 7.7 seconds, which is pretty good and the torque from the electric motor keeps the nippiness all the way up to 70mph.
Motorway drivers will find that their drive is very comfortable and the car feels very well balanced. Even on winding country roads, the car sits well and handles really good for an estate car.
Boot Space
For an estate, its only right that the boot space is not only generous but also usable. The MG5 Estate gives you 464 litres of space. If you drop the back seats this increases to 1456 litres. The MG ZS does give you a little bit more space over the MG5 estate.
Conclusion
As affordable electric vehicles go, the MG5 Estate is excellent especially for those who want to cut their benefit in kind (BiK) taxation. Rangewise it really is excellent and the space onboard is great for those with families or who want the space.
