The latest Tesla Model 3 (aka Highlander) has finally hit the UK roads and so far the feedback is positive from customers who have taken delivery, comments include:

Game changer car, they’ve made so many improvements with particular attention being made towards the build quality.

Tesla what have you done, I didn’t think it could get any better but you did it. Kids love the rear screens and I love the ability to lock it.

The range is great and with the bonus of the Tesla Supercharger network, the car feels effortless to drive. I just need to hide the car away from my husband.

In Numbers…

Range:

Real range estimation is between 185 and 375 for the standard range model and 225 to 445 miles for the long-range model. As yet, there is no sign of the Performance model but sources say that this could be called the Plaid!

Prices:

As with most Tesla’s, colours and interiors are restricted to a few options. Standard range can be had from £39,990 and £49,990 for the long range version. We’re yet to see the Tesla Model 3 (latest model) on our car subscriptions and short-term car leases as yet, but we hope to be able to offer these soon.

Performance:

We all know Tesla’s aren’t known for being slow. The standard range can do 0-62 mph in 6.1 seconds with a top speed of 125 mph. The long-range model boasts a 0-62 mph in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 125 mph, producing 491 hp and 364 lb-ft.

Battery Size:

Tesla can be quite secretive on their battery sizes and usable capacity. The overall capacity of the standard range battery is 60 kWh with an estimated usable capacity of 57.5 kWh. The long-range model has a 78.1 lWh battery with an estimated usable capacity of 75 kWh.

Charging Time:

Charging times is crucial for all drivers who use electric cars on a day-to-day basis, here are the figures.

For the standard range model using CCS at 170 kw DC will chage 26 miles to 208 miles in 25 minutes. Using a 11kW charger will charge from 0 miles to 260 miles in around 6 hours and 15 minutes.

The long-range model offers CCS charging at 250 kW DC from 31 miles o 248 miles in 27 minutes. Using and 11kW charger will charge from 0 miles to 310 miles in 8 hours and 15 minutes.

Road Tax:

For both models the annual cost of road tax for the Tesla Model 3 is £0, this may change in future budgets and is correct at the time of publishing.

Boot size:

The size of the boot on the Tesla Model 3 is 594 litres and don’t forget you’ve also got space under the bonnet aka. frunk, you get an additional 88 litres in here and is ideal for the charging cables.

Vehicle Size:

The Tesla Model 3 is 4720 mm long by 1849 mm wide. The height of the vehicle is 1441 mm and it weighs a wopping 2263kg.

ISOFIX:

The Tesla Model 3 has 2 ISOFIX points in the vehicle, these are on the two outer rear seats. You can out a car chair on the front seat using the seatbelt. Just make sure that you deactivate the airbag if the seat is rear-facing.

Company Car Tax:

As the Tesla Model 3 is an all-electric model, the current Benefit-in-Kind taxation rates are favourable.

For the 24-25 financial year you will be paying approx £13 per month at 20% tax band, £27 per month at 40% and £30 per month at 45% tax band for the standard range model.

The long-range model you will be paying approx £17 per month at 20% tax band, £33 per month at 40% and £37 per month at 45% tax band for the standard range model.

This will increase slightly for the 25-26 financial year where the BiK rate increases to 3%.
