One of the most asked question from customers with children, is how many ISOFIX points does the car of interest have?
Whilst ISOFIX is a standard feature on cars nowadays, most of the time vehicle manufacturers will only put the bare minimum in the car with the rear seats having the two outers with these latching points.
But what if you need more than two child seats in the vehicle? What are the options?
Best Cars with 3+ ISOFIX points
Audi Q7
The Audi Q7 comes with 7 Seats as standard and is one of the few cars that actually has ISOFIX brackets on every passenger seat in the UK, with a total of 6 points.
On top of the is the 2nd row, easily allows 3 child seats across which is extremely rare and easily makes this the car of choice when it comes to needing 3 or more ISOFIX points.
Land Rover Discovery
The Land Rover Discovery is a large 4×4 SUV with 7-seats. In terms of space and comfort, you cannot dismiss the Discovery as an option on your car shopping list.
The LR Discovery comes with 5 ISOFIX points including the front passenger seat, the 2 outer rears on the 2nd row and the 2 seats on the 3rd row. It also offers quite a bit of boot space when all 7 seats are being used.
Volkswagen Touran
The Volkswagen Touran has been a long established model in the VW range. It is well suited to many families, especially those with young children.
The 2nd (middle row) has 3 individual seats, with the two outers being ISOFIX. But they are wide enough to use a seatbelt secured child seat on the middle row.
The balance of the ISOFIX points include the front passenger seats and the two rear 3rd row seats.
Skoda Superb Estate
The wild card of this article is definately the Skoda Superb Estate, this is easily the best car if you don’t need 7-seats but you need to fit 3 ISOFIX child seats across the back seats.
Whilst it can be a tight squeeze and it is best to avoid the chunkier child seats, this model does allow all 3 rear seats to be used with the ISOFIX points.
Tesla Model S
We’re still waiting for Tesla to confirm availability of the latest Tesla Model S in the UK, but when launched it will be one of the few pure electric cars that offers 3 ISOFIX points across the rear seats.
On top of that, the boot and the frunk is huge with plenty of space for pushchairs or luggage. If rumours are tru, Tesla may also introduce the 7-seat version of this car in the not too distant future.
