Non-Status Leasing

Non-status leasing

Our non-status leasing product offers an alternative route to a vehicle where mainstream credit checks are a barrier — but it's important to understand exactly what it does, and doesn't, cover.

Please note: our non-status leasing product is not suitable for customers with bad credit, County Court Judgements (CCJs) or adverse credit history. It's designed for specific non-status circumstances — such as a thin or limited credit file — rather than a poor credit history, and every application is assessed case-by-case by our specialist underwriters, who look at affordability and stability rather than a standard credit score alone. Acceptance is never guaranteed, and a credit check is always carried out regardless of the 'non-status' label.

What we'll typically ask for

🪪

Individuals

A current driving licence at your stated address, 3+ years of address and employment history, a recent utility bill, wage slips and bank statements showing income and expenditure.

🏢

Businesses

A director's licence and proof of address, business bank statements (up to 12 months), management accounts if requested, and details of your company and website.

📋

Case-by-case terms

Terms may differ from a standard advertised rate depending on the underwriter's assessment — this can include a higher documentation fee, a deposit, or a guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this suitable if I have a CCJ or bad credit?

No — this product is not suitable for bad credit, CCJs or adverse credit history. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation and we'll be upfront about whether we can help.

Who is non-status leasing designed for?

It's aimed at customers who don't fit standard credit-scoring criteria for other reasons, such as a limited or thin UK credit history — for example some new start-up businesses or expats.

Will you still run a credit check?

Yes — a credit check is always carried out, despite the 'non-status' name. We simply take a broader view of affordability and stability alongside the score itself.

What happens if I miss a payment?

As with any lease, failure to pay can result in vehicle repossession, and a bounced direct debit typically triggers a collections process within 48 hours — please speak to us as early as possible if you anticipate a problem.

Is acceptance guaranteed?

No — every application is individually underwritten and acceptance is never guaranteed. We'll always be honest with you about your chances before you formally apply.
